OneTech Founders Weekend is designed to help you form teams, build networks and launch your very own start-up.
We’re bringing you a **FULLY VIRTUAL** weekend of networking, business modelling, pitching and expert mentoring which means you can participate in the programme from wherever you are in London.
Be mentored by the best experts leading your team to success, create your very own network of innovators and meet and work with your future colleagues, co-founders, friends.
You’ll have the opportunity to shine in front of industry leaders by presenting your project on our virtual pitch day and walk away with the winning prize.
OneTech Founders Weekend is powered by Foundervine – an award-winning social enterprise helping entrepreneurs grow.
What happens at OneTech Founders Weekend?
Start & Finish: The Weekend will begin on Friday 10th July 2020 @ 18:00 and run until Sunday 19th April 2020 @ 18:00.
- Kick Off – Friday 17th April @ 18:00 – You’ll meet your new network, form teams, hear from established founders and start work on your business model. We’ll give you all the time you need to connect and network in our virtual breakout rooms.
- Day 2: Saturday 18th April @ 09:30 – You get to work on your ideas in your teams, gain expert mentoring on market validation, business modelling and product management from our expert speakers. We’ll also invite industry speakers to mentor you throughout the day.
- Day 3: Sunday 19th April @ 10:00 – You pitch in front of a panel of expert judges, win prizes and celebrate your achievements.You also network and mingle with our judges and speakers in our virtual breakout rooms.

Founders Weekend is open to you if you are:

How to Register
Registration is now open and closes on Wednesday 15th April . To apply for the programme, please fill out this form and you will soon receive joining instructions with all the details on what to expect and the resources you need to be ready to go on the day of the event.
Please note that the programme will be delivered fully virtually. You will therefore need:
- A laptop with a webcam so you can take part in sessions
- A good internet connection
- Lots of energy!
You’ll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.
What Happens After OneTech Founders Weekend?
The best teams from Founders Weekend will be accepted into FoundersDoor powered by YSYS. The FoundersDoor pre-accelerator will equip you with the knowledge and experience needed to get your startup off the ground.

What are the full event timings?
- Day 1: 17:30* – 21:00
- Day 2: 09:00 – 17:30
- Day 3: 10:00 – 18:00
*Please note that registration is from 5:30pm – 6pm. We will kick off at 6pm sharp. We will send details on how to log in and register for the virtual room. If you will be late, no problem – just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know what time you will be coming. We advise joining the room no later than 7pm on Friday. Please note that you must be available all three days. If you will not be able to make part of the event, please email us in advance at email@example.com.
Are there any age requirements to enter the event?
OneTech Founders Weekend is an event designed for budding and current entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-24 based in London.
Do I need to have an idea or be running a business to take part in the event?
No. Just have a passion for making a difference! Please note that your idea should be something you have not launched already so your team can help shape it.
Do I need business experience?
Absolutely not. The programme is open to anyone that is interested in using their skills in helping build something new and innovative, The programme is open to students, professionals and anyone else with a passion for business.
Do I need to have tech skills?
No, not essential. We welcome multi-disciplinary teams. Whether you have a background in business, tech, social development, charity or education, your skills can make a great contribution to a team.
Is OneTech Founders Weekend free?
Yes, the event is free to attend and is funded by OneTech supported by JP Morgan and the Mayor of London.

You’ll hear from Richard Awoyemi, CEO and Founder at Opsonion, and understand his own entrepreneurial journey and have a chance to ask questions.
We’ll then be joined by our three fantastic breakout room facilitators – mentors and leaders – with the opportunity to share your business ideas and get feedback and advice on how to progress to the next stage.
In this jam we welcome Ekua Cant, Coach and Mentor at Be Your No. 1 Cheerleader; Rahmon Agbaje, serial entrepreneur and part of the Venture Team at Founders Factory; and ‘Ultrapreneur’ Julian Hall, Founder of Ultra Education.
We’ll finish up with an action plan session to consolidate all of your learnings and help you to put your thoughts into practical and actionable steps that you can take over the next two weeks. The event will be hosted by Claudine Adeyemi from UK Black Tech.

Richard Awoyemi, CEO and Founder at Opsonion
Richard Awoyemi is the CEO and founder of Opsonion, a platform that’s like Canva for websites. He aims to empower the community by helping people to build online products faster, cheaper and simpler than ever before. He is also a qualified Actuary and runs a consultancy – providing financial modelling expertise and programming support to companies. Previously, he worked as a Senior Consultant for a fintech startup. He helped to grow both the business and the team rapidly for three years. Richard is also a husband and father to two young girls.
Ekua Cant, Coach & Mentor, Be Your No.1 Cheerleader
Ekua lives to make people be their own cheerleader! She started her career as a PA to a Director working in the UK Civil Service, working with numerous Government Departments the Cabinet Office, Home Office, and left as an IT Project Manager. Whilst working in the Civil Service she founded two startups, Layover Adventure and the Hackathon Queen. She became a Digital Project Manager contractor. Ekua successfully completed the London Marathon in 2018 – the hottest on record! She was also awarded a ticket to Barack Obama’s acceptance for the nomination to the Democratic party for her campaigning work for the civic voluntary organisation DCVote. She always has a listening ear to advise and provide career coaching for those in need of guidance. She formerly ran DrinksBot, an on-demand drinks delivery service enabled by a Slack Chatbot. She’s currently coaching, writing a motivational self help book, and mentoring.
Rahmon Agbaje, Entrepreneur, Gen Z Consultant and International Speaker
Rahmon works across the intersection of technology, culture and creativity. Aged 18, whilst in university he built a music tech company, helping the company raise £2m in seed funding. Rahmon now sits on the Venture team at Founders Factory and on the board for Capital Enterprise’s Onetech, helping London’s most innovative diverse founders gain access to funding and networks whilst sharing his story as a speaker.
Julian Hall, Founder of Ultra Education
Featured on Forbes, Julian ‘The Ultrapreneur’ Hall is the founder of a four year old social enterprise called Ultra Education which has been successfully teaching entrepreneurship to primary and secondary school children from disadvantaged backgrounds. He’s co-written three degrees in entrepreneurship and launched the UK’s first mobile game for kids entrepreneurship. A recently elected freeman of the Guild of Entrepreneurs and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Julian is currently developing the world’s first artificial intelligence chatbot that can teach entrepreneurship to kids and teens.
